I stopped listening many months ago, but I am so over Top 40 "Pop" and the Top 40 stations. This includes country stations because they play the SAME SONGS over and over again, sometimes in the same order.
But I'm actually quite disgusted with Top 40 "Pop" (or whatever you want to call it, because it's actually anything that's "cool"). I'm talking specifically about the KISS FMs. There's one in almost every city. They're like McDonald's. They repeat themselves tremendously and the lyrics are just DISGUSTING.
Here's a story that led me to this.
The filter is down at work, so I can listen to Yahoo radio. There's a song that I really like. It's "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis. I heard it for the first time out of Waco (IMAGINE THAT) whenI was traveling through an area where the radio signals aren't that great, and their local "pop" station was clear.
Anyway, I figure I can hear the song on "Today's Big Hits" on Yahoo Radio, and I did once.
So, I'm listening at work, for hours and hours, having to suffer (or mute) through songs that are annoying me. When I've got my hands shuffling all these papers, I may not be able to reach the mouse quick enough.
Parents: Are you listening to what your kids are listening to? I know we shouldn't shelter them, but, my God, LISTEN to the lyrics!
Then read this.
I'm not saying there's a connection specifically, but it could be speculated..
Anyway, "Love In This Club" by Usher is grose. I think he says he wants to make love in the club. EW! How unsanitary.
We have a lot of teens who may not decipher between right and wrong. Too many teens who have the "I should try it at least once so I'm not a loser and won't regret not doing it when I'm older" mentality. We have a tragic amount of kids whose parents don't give a crap about their kids just as long as they stay out of prison and off the pole. Too many parents who don't care about who their kids hang out with and what they learn from these other kids. Stop pretending you live in a bubble and stop thinking your kid is perfect.
Anywayzzzz..
It's just grose. Call me old, I don't care. I can prove it. I listen to 80s music and will until they discover the filter is down..
This blog had a point, but it must have gotten lost somewhere in the outrage. What do I suggest you do about this, whatever you want, it's America. NO ONE can avoid the tragedy and misfortune here.
