It's official.
People are NEVER satisfied.
While Spouse and I were in Port A, I looked online at restaurants that we were thinking of eating at. I looked each one up and read the reviews people had written.
One place (we didn't go to) that was reviewed, the person reported maggots in her broccoli and no explanation from the manager.
1. Are you sure those maggot friends weren't parmesan cheese? Idiot.
2. WHAT KIND OF F!@KING EXPLANATION ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?!?!? MAGGOTS? MAGGOTS! SERIOUSLY, WHAT WAS THE MANAGER SUPPOSED TO SAY THAT WOULD MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER? OR DID YOU JUST WANT LIPS ON YOUR ASS? Sorry, had to let that out. Maggots in food is pretty unacceptable and it's a careless mistake the manager can apologize profusely for. Wanting an explanation sounds ludicrous. And what's the point?
Some people were quite pleased with everything. But most people had some bitch about it. Before your bitchfest, try to avoid the situation altogether by observing some common sense rules.
1. The waiter/waitress isn't perfect, and neither are you.
2. Don't go to a restaurant right when they open or within an hour of closing. Just don't. Especially with a big party near closing time. That's just being a complete rat bastard. If you MUST go at closing time, tip GENEROUSLY and be nice and gracious to your waitperson.
3. If you want your food within 5 minutes, don't go to a restaurant. Go to the drive through. The last place we ate on vacation, a group of college-aged kids kept commenting about the pseudo incompetence of the waiter and how long the food took to come out. THERE'S THE F!@KING DOOR AND THE WHATABURGER IS DOWN THE STREET!!!! K, thanks.
3a. If there's a sign out in front of the establishment that says "Now Hiring," let that be your warning.
4. No one wants to kiss your ass. Everyone thinks you're an ass. There are special places for rude people in hell. There is no justification for being discourteous to someone who serves you.
But I still believe this world would be a more happier, relaxed, less-mental place if we had some respect for each other. I think I always will think that.
