Once upon a time, about 8 years ago, Texas put into action the "Tax Free Holiday." Those first couple years, shopping during that one fateful weekend in August was madness.
I recall one occurance in which I bought my first (and last) pair of Dr. Martens tax free. Woo..
I'm not a fan of large crowds and cramped spaces with other people who don't know what "personal space" is (hence my "nickname" on this blog). And the way people drive like baboons on crack makes me even less likely to go somewhere (hence the "nickname" again). So Tax Free Weekend, you could find me at the house, and only at the house. It was great.
Anyway, the question I raised as Tax Free Holiday approached is, "Can you shop tax free online?"
After some experimenting, yes, Virginia, there is a way to shop tax free online.
I bought 2 pairs of pants and a cute shirt for less than $100 (before shipping) and my tax was just a little pocket change. I assume tax for shipping or something.
OMG!! A Borderline Agoraphobic's DREAM!!
In other news, Spouse asked me if I was excited about going back to school next week because that's all I would ever talk about in the months leading to this point. I said "I don't know."
"What do you mean you don't know?"
I told him because it's gonna be hard (challenging) and we're gonna be spending a lot of money on school things and for gas, and I won't be working as many hours, etc. That's kinda frightening.
But, deep down, I am pretty excited. I mean, I'm ready to do this. I can't wait to get into a hospital besides the one I work at and see how it's done. I want to learn more stuff. I want to be a "healthcare professional." I want to work in the NICU.
So, yeah, I'm excited.
Excited and scared all at the same time.
7 Days to go!!
