Hedgehog

And now for something completely different! An actual nice post, not so much hostile.

I've been thinking about getting a pet hedgehog. I saw one at the pet store in Decatur. I looked up their website, saw hedgehogs listed in the pets they sold, looked them up on the internet, fell into a deep like.

I've read about hedgehogs and taking care them almost on a daily basis the last week. The only obstacles I've run into are:

1. You have to keep the temperature above 70 degrees or the hedgehog will start to hibernate and die in 2 days.

2. They can get various cases of health issues that require vet visits, and vets who see exotic animals are sometimes hard to find. Then again, I live relatively close to a whole metroplex of dense and diverse population and I'm sure one won't be that hard for me to find. In fact, I've already located on in Arlington. Home of my favorite place!!

I've researched TONS on hedgehogs and if one was abandoned on my doorstep today, I would know how to take care of it (but be in desperate need of a cage).

Yes, you can get poked by a hedgehog. Apparently, it hurts like hell but doesn't draw blood. And that fact hasn't seemed to bother me.

I'll post the progress.
