Bitter much?

Reasons to Have A Child.
#3:

"My kid is sick, so I have to stay home with him."

Oh, okay, sure. I'd be glad to pick up your slack. And I'll keep that up until you stay at home for the few days it takes him to recover.

I apologize to parents out there, I'm just pissed right now. It's a VERY COMPLICATED situation.

I also love "Short Timers," that's when an employee who has put in their 2 week notice falls mysteriously ill in the remaining 10 days of their employment. The flu? Oh, suuuuuuuurrrre!

A combination of Rule #3 and "Short Timers" is a very frustrating combination.

I know I'll end up getting a comment completely out of the blue on this (bonus if I don't). No, I'm not a parent. I don't want my child to be exposed to a lot of things in society right now, and I don't know if in 10+ years if anything will change. But if it does, and I do have my 1 child, I will know Reason #3 and all it's complications.

But I will be prepared. And I will know what it's like to be on the other end of that issue.

Till then, I just don't like it when people use their children as an "excuse." I think I'd much rather hear that you have some family issues right now and don't think you'll be able to come in to work the next day. Keep me guessing, don't use the Sick-Child-Can't-Go-To-Daycare excuse.

I'm done venting.
