Don't read this news article.
Because I just don't know if we need to know this.
I don't know if we need to know a lot of what's going on out there.
I know we should know so we can be vigilant.
But if we do know, then we're scared for ourselves, our family, our friends, even people we don't know.
The only people who like to see this type of news are the people who committed the crime. I think a large percentage of criminals engage in criminal activity to a. Get back/get in jail (based on my "Better Life" theory) or b. to be "famous," or c. Because they don't know any better way to make it in life.
A while back, I went on a News Diet. I didn't read, watch, or hear about the news for a whole week to see if it would improve my attitude and negativity. I thought it might calm my conspiracy theories a little.
But I don't think it changed much. I was still dwelling on old horrible stuff....
I don't watch the news very often. Maybe once a week. It's just depressing and heartbreaking to know what a screwed up world we live in and I already know it; I don't need to be reminded every day. And the news doesn't show enough "good stuff," stories about "heroes" and good samaritans.
Maybe we just don't have enough of it to have it there to report on. Or does the media just choose not to show us those things?
....And you now what? Even the WEATHER is dramatized. No big storm at your house? Went out and draped a blanket over your car in the pouring rain because there was a chance of golf-ball sized hail? It didn't happen did it?
Good. That's what they were hoping for.
I'm getting off subject, so....
What I'd like to hear on the news is:
"James Jones was arrested for the murder of a woman and her unborn child (leave out the "stuffed in suitcase" part). He could serve life in prison...." etc. etc.
"Remember that woman who threw her kids and herself off the overpass? She's crazy and she's going to the nuthouse. The kids are staying with an aunt. Here's information if you would like to donate to the children's college education fund."
I'd rather hear outcomes. So many times they report on news they KNOW NOTHING about. Just a horrible thing happened. And you're reminded of said horrible thing the next day. And then the whole story just blows away in the wind like a puff of smoke. Not all of us have minds that work like that. What was the solution to this? Don't depress and beat me down with heinous crimes that go unsolved or keep happening. That just makes people mad, sad, depressed, angry, and WE DON'T NEED ANYMORE OF THAT S#IT GOING AROUND.
Perk up people! Quit watching the news or something.
Smile. For no reason.
A few more positives in life, I think, would do so much good in the world.
