Craigslist Drama - I Love It

I still browse Craigslist every day because it’s interesting.

I like reading the Employment ads. Some of them seem kinda interesting. There’s the ones that sound too good to be true. All the ones where fax numbers aren’t given to send resumes (and man, do people get hot about that!) because the common, currently unemployed person at home doesn’t also happen to have a fax machine. But my favorite ones are the ads written by people who can’t spell, don’t know correct grammar and punctuation, and obviously feel no need to proofread anything. Why would I want to work for someone/company who can’t even represent themselves professionally? Oh well, I guess that’s what you get, it’s on Craigslist anyway.

I have applied to a few jobs, none amounted to interviews whether I was asked to do one or offered to contact them about more information.

Then there’s the pet ads. That place is SO dramatic! Not only are people putting themselves on display as selfish and sometimes stupid, they stir up all kinds of mess with ads they post about “getting rid of” their pets.

I’ve blogged on this issue before, but there’s a new epidemic on the Pets classifieds; the “Let’s Be Obvious” pet “sellers,” which is banned on CL.

There was this there today:

We adopted a little Pomeranian last week, but our other dog has been starting fights with him dog so unfortunately we need to rehome him. He is really sweet and playful. We is about 7 lbs and up to date on shots. He does well in a crate and is mostly housebroken. We will give you leftover food, a bag, and his collar and leash. We want to make sure he goes to a good home so please reply with information about yourself, your family, and your current situation. Rehoming fee applies.

EXCUSE ME?! You adopted this pet ONE WEEK ago and it didn’t work out. So after a WEEK, you want to charge someone to give this dog a better home (maybe). That’s ridiculous, ignorant, and lots of the CL stalkers are going to say you are a SELLER who might have even stolen this dog to turn around and sell it (and that is a big issue lately).

Idiot!

See, instead of clogging up the Pet Classifieds and venting out all my frustration (which people do on CL ALL DAY long), I’ll just blog about it.

I Heart My Blog!
