In a time where I'd rather see more important things, Miley Cyrus is stealing the Spotlight of Importance.
This whole Vanity Fair thing (which I can't seem to find much legitimate info on, surprisingly) is just stupid. She seemed upset because of the pictures that showed up in the magazine. UMM.. OKAY. You were THERE, right? It's not like you got in a box, there was a flash of light and **BOOM** there were 100 pictures taken of you. You were there. You did what the photographer told you to do. Whether your parents were there or not you COULD HAVE SAID "NO, THANKS!"
The pictures; not that scandalous, true. But the fact that you couldn't stand up for yourself and say "No" to something that would end up being questionable, THAT is unfortunate for the little girls who call you a role model. Try not to do it again. Oh, and try not to take questionable photos of YOURSELF too.
There are STILL no Role Models for our kids. None. And just when you think they might be somewhat okay, they tarnish their squeaky clean images with dirty pictures or get pregnant at 16.
I think, what this boils down to; we have too many kid stars doing what kids do - BE KIDS! Getting pregnant at a young age; not so much a great, fun childhood. But taking stupid pictures with your besties a la MySpace is just something 15 year olds do. It may not be the most perfect thing, but I think Miley at least has that one shred of desire to just be a kid.
But I think she's gonna miss the fact she never really got a childhood. Like most kid stars, childhood finally comes once the novelty wears off and no one cares anymore. You turn 18, become legal, men will celebrate it with you because they don't feel so guilty crushing on you, and it's over as quick as it started.
Kids: Get away from the TV and go run around the yard and play with sand and Barbies. You can't do that shit when you're 19 and miss having the days when you could truly be "carefree" and "invincible." Or else, you'll be one of those people who parties too much because childhood and adolesence was never fun. It was filled with softball, soccer, football, cheerleading and dead-end relationships on top of everything else in high school that eventually doesn't matter at all in the end.
Think about it..
